Free Online Image Cropper
Square, circle, Instagram or 16:9 — exact pixels, original quality
Crop any photo or screenshot in seconds. Drop an image, paste it from the clipboard or pick a file, then drag the crop box and its corner handles to frame exactly what you want. Choose a preset aspect ratio — 1:1 for profile pictures, 4:5 for Instagram portrait posts, 16:9 for YouTube thumbnails and presentations, 9:16 for stories and reels — or crop freely. Type exact width and height in pixels when you need a precise size, rotate the image by 90°, and switch to circle mode to get a round avatar with a transparent background. The cropped image keeps the original resolution and format (JPG, PNG or WebP). Everything runs locally in your browser, so your photos stay private.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does cropping reduce image quality?
No. Cropping only removes the area outside the box; the remaining pixels are kept at full resolution. JPG and WebP are re-saved at high quality (92%), PNG stays lossless.
How do I crop an image into a circle?
Choose “Circle”. The ratio switches to 1:1 so you get a perfect circle; position the box and download. The result is a PNG with a transparent background outside the circle.
How do I crop to an exact size in pixels?
Type the width and height in the fields below the image. With a ratio preset active, the other side adjusts automatically; choose “Free” to set both independently.
Are my photos uploaded to a server?
No. The image is loaded into a canvas in your browser and cropped there; nothing is sent over the internet.
Can I crop on my phone?
Yes. Drag the box with one finger and use the round corner handles to resize. Scrolling is locked inside the image while you crop.
Which formats are supported?
Any image your browser can open: JPG, PNG, WebP, GIF (first frame), BMP and on most devices HEIC/AVIF. The cropped file keeps JPG, PNG or WebP format; other formats are saved as PNG.
