Rotate PDF
Rotate all pages by 90°, 180° or 270°
Rotate PDF: Fix a Sideways Scan in Seconds
Turn a sideways or upside-down PDF the right way up — permanently.
Scanned documents often come out sideways or upside down. The rotate button in your PDF viewer only turns your current view — send the file to someone else and it opens wrong again. This tool writes the rotation into the file itself: pick your PDF, choose 90°, 180° or 270°, download — it now opens correctly everywhere. If some pages are already rotated, your chosen angle is added on top of the existing one, so you can fix a wrong rotation by rotating again. Like all our PDF tools, it runs entirely in your browser: your file is never uploaded to any server.

PDF Rotation Guide
Which angle?
- Page leaning left → 90° (turns clockwise)
- Page upside down → 180°
- Page leaning right → 270° (turns 90° counter-clockwise)
- Not sure? Try 90°, check the result, repeat if needed
Good to know
- Rotation applies to all pages at once
- Angles stack on already-rotated pages
- Output is named with a -rotated suffix; the original is untouched
- Text and image quality are fully preserved
Frequently Asked Questions
Is my file uploaded to a server?
No. Rotation runs entirely on your device using the pdf-lib library in your browser; your PDF never touches the internet. Safe for sensitive documents.
How is this different from rotating in my PDF viewer?
The rotate button in PDF readers only turns your current view; the file itself doesn't change, and it opens sideways again for anyone you send it to. This tool writes the rotation into the file — it's permanent.
Can I rotate just one page?
This tool rotates all pages at once — the most common need with wrongly scanned documents. To rotate a single page, split it out first with PDF Split, rotate it, then reattach it with PDF Merge.
What's the difference between 90° and 270°?
90° turns pages clockwise (to the right); 270° turns them counter-clockwise (to the left). A document leaning left needs 90°, one leaning right needs 270°.
What happens to pages that are already rotated?
Your chosen angle is added to each page's existing rotation. Applying 90° to a page already at 90° gives 180°. That also means you can undo a wrong rotation by rotating further.
Does quality drop?
No — rotation only changes the page's orientation flag; text, images and vector content are preserved exactly. File size stays nearly identical.
