The video stays on your device — nothing is recorded or uploaded.
Online Webcam Test
Check your camera before a video call, class or stream
Press Start and allow camera access to see a live preview from your webcam. The tool shows the actual resolution the camera delivers, the frame rate measured from real video frames, the highest resolution the camera reports it supports and the image size in megapixels. Choose another camera from the list (built-in, USB webcam, phone front and back camera) or request a specific resolution such as 720p, 1080p or 4K to see what your device really supports. Mirror the image like a selfie view and take a snapshot to save a full-resolution PNG. The video never leaves your device – nothing is recorded or uploaded.

Frequently Asked Questions
How do I test my webcam?
Press “Start camera test” and allow access. If you see yourself and the status turns green, the camera works. Check the resolution and frames per second below the preview.
Why is my webcam not working?
Most often another app is using it, the browser has no permission, or a privacy shutter covers the lens. Close Zoom/Teams, allow the camera in the address bar and system settings, and check the shutter.
Why is the frame rate low?
Webcams lower the frame rate automatically in poor light to get a brighter image. Add light, or choose a lower resolution if USB bandwidth is limited.
Is my video recorded?
No. The preview is shown only on your screen. A snapshot is created in your browser and saved only if you download it.
What resolution does my webcam support?
The “Max supported” box shows the highest resolution the camera reports. Select a resolution in the list to check what it actually delivers.
